Lawn Mowing

Mowing is one of the most important parts of lawn care.

If your mower is not set up at the correct height it can cause serious long term damage to your lawn, resulting in the need for major repair work.

It’s always best to set your mower up too high and slowly bring the machine down so that the mower is cutting off a very small amount of grass. If you start cutting more than half of the length of the blade of grass, that’s when scalping may occur.

With the milder winters we have in the UK, grass doesn’t really stop growing. Servicing your mowers so you have a sharp blade and clean filters is extremely beneficial so that cutting damp grass isn’t an issue. I always feel it’s best to cut your grass once a month through the winter months so that when the ground starts to warm up in February/March it’s easier to clip the top off. It is also advisable to clean off your machines after use so that the blade stays sharp all year.

On my visits to your property, I can guide you through a step by step routine for mowing and setting your mower up at the correct height so you start to enjoy cutting grass and not feel it is a chore.

Pricing is by quotation after a site visit and lawn analysis.
