Lawn Aeration

Aeration is a key part of turf care adding so many benefits to a healthy lawn.

There are two types of aeration that can be done on your lawn, solid tining or hollow tining.

Solid tining is a process of drilling thousands of holes through the root system into the soil to allow sub surface moisture to drain, gasses to exchange, root systems pushed deeper and compaction to be relieved. This can be done all year round but mainly in the winter months if the ground is not frozen or rock hard from drought.

Hollow tining is a process of drilling hollow tines into the soil and removing a plug. The benefits of hollow tinning are drainage of sub surface moisture, gasses to exchange, enhanced water uptake, reduced soil compaction from an over-used and tired lawn, removal of thatch layer, room for new grass roots to grow, enhanced heat and drought tolerance. Once completed, cores can either be removed or broken up with a scarifier and recycled.  Holes can also be back filled with lawn dressing which will help aid new grass roots to grow and feeds oxygen to the root system for a longer period.

Pricing is by quotation after a site visit and lawn analysis.
